New Year's Eve Fireworks Displays

Produced by the Crescent City Countdown Club in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy and the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund, this internationally acclaimed tradition is a community project made possible by New Orleans & Company, with The Berger & Tiller Families, J & M Displays, WWL 870AM/105.3FM, WWL.com, Magic 101.9, and 23 dedicated community sponsors.

The fireworks show will be streamed live on WWL.com and WWL Radio Facebook.

Traffic Restrictions

Residents and visitors should expect heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the Central Business District, French Quarter, and Marigny throughout the New Year's Eve and Allstate Sugar Bowl events. The New Orleans Police Department will restrict vehicular traffic in and around the French Quarter as follows:

NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ALLOWED 

5pm - 4am overnight Friday, Dec. 29 thru Monday, Jan. 1, 2024

  • Dauphine St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St.
  • Royal St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St.
  • 700-800 blocks of St. Ann St., Orleans Ave., St. Peter St., Toulouse St., St. Louis St., Conti St., Bienville St., and Iberville St.
  • Bourbon St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St. 
  • All streets starting with Dumaine Street toward Esplanade Avenue will be open to cross Bourbon Street

Additional intermittent street closures, including Canal St. from Claiborne Ave. to Convention Center Blvd., might be required as crowd size warrants. Decatur St. from Dumaine St. to St. Louis St. will also be closed to vehicles ahead of the fireworks display on Sunday, Dec. 31 once crowd size warrants.

Parking Impacts

NO PARKING ZONES

Friday, Dec. 29 through Monday, Jan. 1, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM daily

  • 700-800 blocks between Dauphine St & Royal St, both sides of the following streets:
    • Iberville, Bienville, Conti, St. Louis, Toulouse, St. Peter, Orleans, St. Ann

Friday, Dec. 29 through Monday, Jan. 1, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM daily

  • Canal St., both sides from Claiborne Ave. to Convention Center Blvd.

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking.

  • Do not block hydrants, driveways and sidewalks.
  • Do not park within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection, or stop sign.
  • Park in the direction of travel on one-way streets and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
