New Year's Eve Fireworks Displays

N.O. East residents will be able to enjoy a New Year's Eve Fireworks show over Joe Brown Park starting at 9:00pm. The park will be closed to the public.

Crescent Park will open on Friday, December 31 from 10:00pm - 1:00am for viewing of the NOLA New Year’s Eve midnight fireworks display on the Mississippi River. Free and open to the public. 

 

Due to the short duration of the event there will not be live music or food and beverage sales, however, attendees can carry in celebratory provisions.  As a reminder, glass bottles, fireworks, and firearms are prohibited in Crescent Park.

Traffic Restrictions

Residents and visitors should expect heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the Central Business District, French Quarter, and Marigny throughout the New Year's Eve and Allstate Sugar Bowl events. The New Orleans Police Department will restrict vehicular traffic in and around the French Quarter as follows:

NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ALLOWED 

8pm - 4am overnight Thursday, Dec. 30 thru Saturday, Jan. 1

  • Dauphine St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St.
  • Royal St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St.
  • 700-800 blocks of St. Ann St., Orleans Ave., St. Peter St., Toulouse St., St. Louis St., Conti St., Bienville St., and Iberville St.
  • Bourbon St. at all intersections from Iberville St. to St. Ann St. 
  • All streets starting with Dumaine Street toward Esplanade Avenue will be open to cross Bourbon Street

8pm - 4am overnight Monday, Dec. 31

  • Decatur St. from Canal St. to Dumaine St.

 

Additional intermittent street closures, including Canal St. from Claiborne Ave. to Convention Center Blvd., might be required as crowd size warrants. Decatur St. from Dumaine St. to St. Louis St. will also be closed to vehicles ahead of the fireworks display on Friday, Dec. 31 once crowd size warrants.

  • Canal St., both sides from Claiborne Ave. to Convention Center Blvd.

  • 700-800 blocks of St. Ann St., Orleans Ave., St. Peter St., Toulouse St., St. Louis St., Conti St., Bienville St., and Iberville St.
  • Bourbon St. from Canal St. to Dumaine St.

8am - 4 am overnight on Friday, Dec. 31 

  • Decatur St. from Dumaine St. to Conti St.
  • N. Peters St. from Conti St. to Canal St.

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking.

Additional parking restrictions may be implemented as necessary. Always follow posted signs. Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking. 

  • Do not block hydrants, driveways and sidewalks.
  • Do not park within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection, or stop sign.
  • Park in the direction of travel on one-way streets and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
