The City of New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP) is urging residents to prepare for extremely cold weather, expected to begin overnight Sunday, Jan. 19, and continue through Wednesday, Jan. 22. Hard freeze conditions are possible, along with Cold Weather Advisories or Extreme Cold Warnings.

Due to the ongoing impacts of the severe winter weather, the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation has suspended curbside recycling collection to allow all available resources to be dedicated to trash collections this week.

City of New Orleans Announces Severe Winter Weather Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule

The City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation has suspended citywide trash and recycling collections on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Wednesday, Jan. 22 due to the impacts of the severe winter weather.

Curbside trash and recycling collection services are currently planned to resume on Thursday, Jan 23.
