Dec 22-26 Extreme Winter Weather Updates

According to the National Weather Service, an extremely cold airmass is expected to surge towards the Gulf coast Thursday and Thursday Night and bring a multitude of hazardous conditions to the area.  Hard Freeze, very strong winds, and dangerous Wind Chill conditions would begin as early as late Thursday night and we will continue to deal with the Arctic air through Christmas Day (December 25th).

Entergy New Orleans and Sewerage & Water Board New Orleans announced the suspension of service disconnections due to the forecasted inclement weather.

City of New Orleans to Activate Arctic Airmass Freeze Plan

Mayor LaToya Cantrell today announced that the City of New Orleans will activate a citywide freeze plan in anticipation of the arctic airmass expected to bring dangerously low temperatures and strong sustained winds beginning Thursday, Dec. 22 until Monday, Dec. 26.
