Water pressure improves, City Hall and schools open Monday

Today, Mayor Landrieu provided an update on the winter weather event that impacted the city and region. Both Boil Water Advisories have been lifted and Sewerage and Water Board (S&WB) crews continue to work around the clock to find and repair leaks throughout New Orleans to strengthen the City’s water pressure.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted in New Orleans East

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for New Orleans East. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs. Water pressure is still not restored to everyday levels. Residents are urged to continue to conserve water, repair pipes, and report leaks.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted for East Bank, Lower 9; Remains in effect for New Orleans East

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for the East Bank of New Orleans and the Lower 9th Ward. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs. Precautionary boil water advisory for New Orleans East remains in effect.

Dialysis & Health Care

The New Orleans Health Department continues to liaise with health care facilities during low water pressure and boil water advisories. Some local dialysis centers and health clinics are closed. Patients are encouraged to confirm appointments before traveling to dialysis centers or health clinics.

Boil Water Advisory Issued For East Bank of New Orleans

The Sewerage & Water Board (S&WB) has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the entire East Bank of New Orleans due to a further drop in water pressure Thursday morning, Jan. 18. This is an expansion of the advisory issued Wednesday for areas east of the Industrial Canal, including Venetian Isles, Lake Catherine and Irish Bayou. Neither advisory applies to the West Bank.
