The City of New Orleans will activate the Citywide Freeze Plan in anticipation of cold weather overnight Wednesday, Jan. 23 and overnight Thursday, Jan. 24. The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures, factoring in wind chill, will drop below the threshold of 35 degrees Fahrenheit for more than four hours each night, triggering the activation of the freeze plan.
