City of New Orleans to Activate Freeze Plan Again Overnight Tuesday, March 5

The City of New Orleans will again activate the Citywide Freeze Plan in anticipation of cold weather overnight Tuesday, March 5, 2019. The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures, factoring in wind chill, will drop below the threshold of 35 degrees Fahrenheit for more than four hours, triggering the activation of the freeze plan. The coldest period is expected to be in the early morning hours Wednesday, March 6, with “feels like” temperatures as low as 30 degrees.

The City of New Orleans will activate the Citywide Freeze Plan in anticipation of cold weather overnight Monday, March 4, 2019. The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures, factoring in wind chill, will drop below the threshold of 35 degrees Fahrenheit for more than four hours, triggering the activation of the freeze plan. The coldest period is expected to be in the early morning hours of Mardi Gras Day with “feels like” temperatures as low as 31 degrees.
