Early School Closures Reported

The Recovery School District has reported the following schools will close early due to heavy rains:

  • KIPP Morial Primary School to close at 2:00 p.m.
  • Morris Jeff Community School to close at 2:30 p.m.
  • Crescent Leadership Academy to close at 2:45 p.m.
  • Collegiate Academies: Livingston High School to close at 4:30 p.m. with no after school activities

City Advises Residents to Use Caution During Flash Flood Warning

According to the National Weather Service, New Orleans is under flash flood warning until 3:15 p.m. today, October 2, 2017. Residents are advised to use caution around areas prone to significant street flooding such as streets under bridges and overpasses.

Heavy rains are moving through New Orleans. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 3:15pm. Don't walk or drive through flooded areas. Call 911 to report street flooding and view reports of street flooding at streetwise.nola.gov.
