The City of New Orleans is not accepting donations at this time.  The following community partners are accepting donations:

Greater New Orleans Foundation

The Greater New Orleans Foundation has activated its Response and Restoration Fund in response to the hurricane impacting Southeast Louisiana. The Response and Restoration Fund supports a network of voluntary and community organizations active in disasters whose, providing immediate relief as well as long-term rebuilding support.

United Way of Southeast Louisiana has launched a Disaster Fund to address the immediate relief and long-term recovery needs of households impacted by disaster.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Second Harvest is accepting donations of non-perishable food, water, and cleaning supplies. Donations can be dropped off at their facility in the  Elmwood Warehouse District area (700 Edwards Avenue, New Orleans).

Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in volunteering after the storm, please contact community organizations directly. Do not self-deploy. The following organizations are taking volunteers for post storm opportunities:

Hands On New Orleans

Hands On New Orleans needs your help with recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Barry!  Camp Restore, HandsOn New Orleans, NOLA Tree Project , and United Saints Recovery Project are coordinating a collective response.  Once the City of New Orleans gives nonprofits the green light to help residents muck and gut homes, clean up debris, tarp roofs, etc., Hands On will email you about specific service dates, times, and locations.

Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response.

Operation BBQ Relief

Operation BBQ Relief provides meals to residents and emergency personnel during times of natural and other disasters. They are accepting volunteers post storm.
