Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted for the East Bank of New Orleans

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for the east bank of New Orleans. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs. Residents are advised to flush their internal and external plumbing by running water through their system for several minutes.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

The precautionary boil water advisory for the east bank of New Orleans remains in effect. Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, has begun testing water samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results. S&WB will notify residents and businesses when the boil water advisory is canceled.
