The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, has canceled the precautionary boil water advisory for residents and businesses in New Orleans East after bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area was safe to drink and could be used for personal needs.

The precautionary boil water advisory for a limited area of New Orleans East is still in effect. Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, is testing water quality samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results. The affected areas are Little Woods, I-10 to Lake Pontchartrain and Read Boulevard to Paris Road and Oak Island, Michoud Boulevard to Lake Forest Boulevard and I-10 to the Maxent Canal. Boil water before consuming.

The Sewerage & Water Board issued a precautionary boil water advisory for two small areas of New Orleans East due to a drop in water pressure: 

• Little Woods, I-10 to Lake Pontchartrain and Read Boulevard to Paris Road
• Oak Island, Michoud Boulevard to Lake Forest Boulevard and I-10 to the Maxent Canal
