The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has canceled the precautionary boil water advisory for residents and businesses in New Orleans East after bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area was safe to drink and could be used for personal needs.

The precautionary boil water advisory for a limited area of New Orleans East, bounded by I-10 to Hayne Boulevard and Read Boulevard to Paris Road is still in effect. Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), is testing water quality samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results.

The Sewerage & Water Board issued a precautionary boil water advisory for an area of New Orleans East bounded by I-10 to Hayne Boulevard and Read Boulevard to Paris Road due to a drop in water pressure. Boil water before consuming. For more information, visit swbno.org.
