Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Areas East of Franklin Ave.

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for areas east of Franklin Ave. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs.
 
Residents are advised to flush their internal and external plumbing by running water through their system for several minutes.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

The precautionary boil water advisory for areas east of Franklin Ave. from Lake Pontchartrain to the Mississippi River remains in effect. Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, is currently testing water samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results.
