Medically Vulnerable Residents Should Sign up for the Special Needs Registry

The special needs registry helps the City know who might need extra help during an emergency. Sign up for the special needs registry if you:  

• Use life support systems, like oxygen, a respirator, a ventilator, dialysis, a pacemaker, or are insulin dependent
• Have trouble walking, moving around, or have a prosthesis
• Are blind, deaf, hard of hearing, or have trouble seeing
• Have speech, developmental, or mental health disabilities
• Use service animals

Please complete the application with your personal and medical information. If you need help completing this application please call 3-1-1. If you can’t sign up on your own, a family member, caregiver, or friend can register for you. 

Throughout the storm, New Orleans Health Department staff will be available 24/7 over the phone to answer any questions and coordinate assistance should you lose power or need to leave your home. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1.
