Latest Forecast on Marco and Laura; Impacts Expected in NOLA Tomorrow
No major adjustments with the latest 4AM update for Tropical Storm Marco as impacts continue to remain likely across the area during the Monday/Tuesday time frame. Heavy rain could result in isolated flash flooding. Storm surge will be possible for areas outside of levee protection. Gusty winds could blow around loose objects and result in isolated power outages. Impacts from Marco could make preparations from Tropical Storm Laura more difficult.
A Tropical Storm Warning, Flash Flood Watch, and Storm Surge Warning (for areas outside of the levee system) are in effect in Orleans Parish.
Tropical Storm Laura could bring some significant impacts to the area mainly during the late Wednesday and Thursday time frame. Moderate to potentially major coastal flooding will be possible based on the current forecasts with the highest water levels expected Wednesday and Thursday. If Laura makes landfall as a hurricane, damaging winds will be possible especially near Laura's center. Heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding, especially where any banding results in heavy rain for an extended period. Preparations for Laura could be more difficult if there are lingering impacts from Tropical Storm Marco.
