RTA to reinstate phased bus service following Hurricane Zeta

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority began a phased reinstatement of bus service in the wake of Hurricane Zeta.

The following routes are operating hourly.  

5 – Marigny/Bywater  39 - Tulane  62 - Morrison Express  90 – Carrollton 
10 – Tchoupitoulas  51 - St. Bernard/St. Anthony  64 - Lake Forest Express  91 - Jackson-Esplanade 
11 – Magazine  52 – St. Bernard – Paris Ave.  65 – Read-Crowder Express  94 – Broad 
15 – Freret  55 – Elysian Fields  80 – Desire-Louisa   
16 – S. Claiborne  57 – Franklin  84 – Galvez   
28 – M.L. King  60 – Hayne  88 – St. Claude/ Jackson Barracks   

The 114 – General DeGaulle-Sullen and 115 - General DeGaulle-Tullis are operating on General DeGaulle only.      

The following routes will not operate at this time due to unsafe road conditions:  

27 - Louisiana   100 – Algiers Loop Owl  106 - Aurora  202 – Airport Express 
32 – Leonidas-Treme   101 – Algiers Point  108 – Algiers Local     
45 – Lakeview   102 – General Meyer   201 – Kenner Loop     

 Streetcar service on all lines will remain suspended. Bus service will replace the following suspended streetcar lines every 30 minutes:    

  • 47 - Canal-Cemeteries-Loyola Streetcar Lines  
  • 48 - Canal-City Park Streetcar Line  
  • 5 and 55 - Riverfront Streetcar Line (operating hourly) 

Due to an abundance of downed trees and debris on 12 - St. Charles Avenue, streetcar and bus shuttle will remain suspended until it is safe to resume operations along this route.   

RTA ferry service remains suspended until power is fully restored at the Algiers Ferry Terminal.  

The RTA will continue to restore service as conditions allow. For up-to-date real time information, riders are encouraged to download the GoMobile app or call Rideline at 504-248-3900 today until 9:00 pm or during regular business hours, 5:00 am to 11:00 pm.
