The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has canceled the precautionary boil water advisory for residents and businesses in Uptown after bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area was safe to drink and could be used for personal needs.

The precautionary boil water advisory for Uptown, from S. Carrollton Avenue to the Pontchartrain Expressway and I-10 to the Mississippi River is still in effect. Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, is testing water quality samples, which may take up to 24 hours to achieve results.
