Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. In this training based on FEMA's Run, Hide, Fight curriculum, we'll teach you how to respond to protect yourself and others. We offer this training for businesses, houses of worship, community organizations, schools, and more.
Ambulance Tour

For many children, hospitals and ambulances can be frightening places. NOEMS hopes to ease some of those fears by introducing children grades K-5 to ambulances in a fun and safe setting. Students will have the opportunity to meet our EMTs and Paramedics, get familiar with the various equipment and medical devices we use, and explore the many features of an ambulance.

Bystander Response Training

This two-hour combined training covers hands-only CPR, Stop the Bleed, and opioid overdose prevention. Before help arrives, you can help save a life during a medical emergency.
Hands-Only CPR
1 hour, provided by New Orleans Emergency Medical Services, New Orleans Health Department
Hands Only CPR is a course developed by the American Heart Association (AHA) that is designed to teach bystanders the immediate life-saving actions they can take when a person suffers from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. When a person’s heart stops beating and they stop responding, their best chance of survival is reliant on trained bystanders who take action immediately. The Hands Only CPR course covers compression only CPR (no mouth-to-mouth), how to use an AED, and actions to take if someone is choking.
Hurricane Preparedness

Learn how to prepare for hurricane season. Topics include the City-Assisted Evacuation Plan (CAEP), City response planning, community preparedness and personal preparedness. We can tailor the training for families, community organizations, businesses, or living facilities.
Overdose Response

An opioid overdose requires immediate emergency attention. This training will teach you how to recognize the signs of opioid overdose and to administer Naloxone, a medication that can reverse an overdose.
Stop the Bleed
1 hour, provided by New Orleans Emergency Medical Services, New Orleans Health Department
Stop the Bleed is a training program developed by the American College of Surgeons that is designed to teach bystanders (or “immediate responders”) how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take action before emergency personnel arrive to assist. The course covers actions such as applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and utilizing a tourniquet when someone suffers a severe bleeding injury.
