Summer 2023 Excessive Heat

Extreme Heat

ENTERGY NEW ORLEANS UPDATE:

We know that extreme heat, like the record heat we expect this week, means higher energy usage. Entergy has sufficient generation capacity, and we are prepared to meet high demand to continue serving our customers.

In the unlikely event that a shortfall of power generation arises, we will work to minimize the impact to our customers, and keep them informed throughout the process.

It is important to note that Entergy New Orleans DOES NOT disconnect customers if the forecasted high is 100-degrees or higher or if the area is in an active heat advisory.  If someone continues to have issues, they should call us at 1-800-ENTERGY (which is staffed 24/7 for emergencies) OR visit one of Entergy’s Walking Care Centers, M-F 8AM – 5PM:

  • Algiers office: 4021 Behrman Hwy Suite J, located in the River Commons Shopping Center.

  • Canal St. office: 3400 Canal Street, located on the corner of Canal Street and S. Jeff Davis Pkwy

We ask that our customers adhere to all official warnings and visit Entergy.com for energy efficiency tips and products, safety information and bill assistance programs available should they be needed.

SEWERAGE & WATER BOARD OF NEW ORLEANS UPDATE:

Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans will not be shutting off water for delinquent accounts on Friday, June 16 through Monday, June 19 due to the Juneteenth Holiday.
