New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps

The New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps is a group of volunteers that assist public health, emergency preparedness, and response efforts in New Orleans.

Activities include:

  • Community outreach
  • Vaccination clinics
  • First aid stations
  • Shelter staffing
  • Evacuation assistance

Evacuteer

Evacuteer trains 500 New Orleanians each hurricane season to assist in the event of a mandatory evacuation.

Activities include: 

  • Evacuation assistance
  • 311 call center staffing
  • Social media monitoring

Volunteer

VIGOR EMS

The New Orleans EMS VIGOR program allows certified EMTs and Paramedics to ride along with EMS crews and respond to 911 calls for service.

  • Function as a third rider on an ambulance
  • Assist in supervised patient care
  • Support medical coverage for major events
