Big Easy Half Marathon

The City of New Orleans has granted a permit to the 2019 Big Easy Running Festival 5K and Half Marathon. More information at bigeasyrunfest.events. As always, take care in large crowds and report suspicious activity to public safety officials.

Bayou St. John, City Park, Mid-City, Fairgrounds, St. Bernard, Filmore, and Lake Terrace & Oaks

Traffic & Transportation 

Traffic will be restricted along the route until the last participant passes and course materials are removed. Roads along the route are expected to reopen within the following timeframe:

  • Moss St. from the start in City Park to Esplanade Ave. reopen at 8:20am
  • Wisner Blvd. from Esplanade Ave. to Desaix Blvd. reopen at 8:20am
  • All of Lakeshore Dr. reopen at 10:15am
  • All of Wisner Blvd. reopen at 10:40am

  • Start: Festival Grounds in City Park
  • Right on Wisner Boulevard
  • Continue onto Carrollton Avenue
  • Left on Moss Street
  • Left on Orleans Avenue
  • Left on Moss Street
  • Left on Dumaine Street
  • Right on Moss Street
  • Right on Carrollton Avenue
  • Continue onto Wisner Boulevard
  • Right on Robert E Lee Boulevard
  • Left on St. Bernard Avenue
  • Right on Oriole Street
  • Continue onto Lakeshore Drive
  • U-Turn at Elysian Fields Avenue
  • Left on St. Bernard Avenue
  • Right on Robert E Lee Boulevard
  • Left on Wisner Boulevard
  • Slight right to enter City Park
  • Right on Zachary Taylor Drive
  • Left on Henry Thomas Drive
