June 2024 Excessive Heat

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the New Orleans area could experience dangerously hot temperatures over the weekend and into next week. A combination of heat and humidity could lead to daytime high heat index values, or “feels like” temperatures, of 108 to 112 degrees over the next several days.

These hot temperatures can become life-threatening if the proper precautions are not taken. Residents can visit to find localized updates on weather conditions when considering outdoor activities.
