Excessive Heat

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the New Orleans area will likely experience dangerously high temperatures this weekend. NWS has forecasted potential heat advisories due to a combination of heat and humidity that could lead to daytime high heat index values, or “feels like” temperatures, of 108 to 111 degrees from Saturday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 18.
