City Advises Residents to Use Caution During Flash Flood Warning

According to the National Weather Service, New Orleans is under flash flood warning until 3:15 p.m. today, April 14, 2018. Residents are advised to use caution around areas prone to significant street flooding such as streets under bridges and overpasses.

Tornado Watch In Effect Until 2pm

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of Orleans Parish in effect until 2pm. That means severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible. In the event of a tornado warning, be ready to go to an interior room on the lowest level and to stay away from windows, doors & outside walls.

City Reminds Residents of Precautions During Severe Weather

According to the National Weather Service, there is an enhanced risk of severe weather and heavy rainfall in the New Orleans area during the day on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Storms are expected to move through the metro area throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening on Saturday. Severe weather threats include damaging wind gusts, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding.
