NOLA Public Schools to Reopen Sept. 15-22

NOLA Public Schools and its school leaders announced that public schools in New Orleans will reopen to students between Sept. 15 and Sept. 22 as the community recovers from the impact of Hurricane Ida. All schools will notify their students’ families about when their campuses will reopen by Friday, Sept. 10.

Wireless Carriers Restore Networks, Partner with City of New Orleans to Assist with Hurricane Ida Response

Following Hurricane Ida, wireless carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon have focused on restoring their wireless communications networks for residents, businesses and first responders. In addition, these carriers are working closely with the Cantrell Administration and NOHSEP to provide critical assistance on the ground including mobile charging stations public WiFi, and customer support.

Hurricane Ida Survivors May be Eligible for Generator and Chainsaw Reimbursement

Louisiana survivors who purchased or rented a generator and/or chainsaw as a result of Hurricane Ida may be eligible for FEMA reimbursement. FEMA cannot reimburse equipment paid for by another source, such as homeowner’s, flood or other types of insurance. Duplicate payments or reimbursements for assistance provided by insurance or any other source are prohibited by law.

RTA Service Update

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority have restored of all bus routes to a modified Saturday schedule beginning Monday, September 6. Buses will also run on the Canal and St. Charles streetcar lines, on the modified schedule. Service will run daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
