National Weather Service New Orleans Overview:
WHAT: Prolonged Cold Temperatures
WHEN: Monday night through Wednesday
WHERE: All of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi
CONFIDENCE:
- Confidence is high that there will be several days next week of freezing temperatures with hard freezes possible on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
- There is no forecasted frozen precipitation for the entire area at this time.

Impacts:
Freeze:
- North of the I-10/I-12 corridor, temperatures at its lowest could be in the teens to low 20s with temperatures below freezing for much of the day.
- South of the I-10/I-12 corridor, temperatures at its lowest could be in the 20s and 30s with several hours each day below freezing possible.
- These conditions could result in significant damage to unprotected pipes as well as citrus and other sensitive agricultural crops.
Wind Chill:
- Wind chills of 20 to 30 are possible in the mornings of Monday through Wednesday.
- Single digit wind chills are possible in southwest Mississippi on Tuesday morning.
