The City of New Orleans continues to monitor a potential tropical cyclone that could impact the New Orleans area late Tuesday through Wednesday with heavy rain, elevated tides, and tropical storm force winds. The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for New Orleans, which indicates that the area could see tropical storm-force winds in the next 48 hours.

Air Quality Alert Issued for New Orleans Friday Aug. 24

The New Orleans Health Department is advising residents that an Air Quality Alert has been issued for New Orleans on Friday, August 24th from 6am to Midnight. The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality has raised the Air Quality Index to orange, indicating that the air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups including active children and adults, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases, such as asthma.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Venetian Isles

Boil Water Advisory Lifted in Venetian Isles

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for Venetian Isles. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs.
 
Customers are advised to flush their internal and external plumbing by running water through their system for several minutes.

The precautionary boil water advisory for Venetian Isles remains in effect. Water sampling began overnight. The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health, is currently testing water samples. S&WB will notify residents and businesses when the boil water advisory is canceled. More: swbno.org

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Venetian Isles

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Issued in Venetian Isles

The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB) has issued a scheduled precautionary boil water advisory for Venetian Isles to make critical repairs to hydrants. The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB) will replace three (3) leaking hydrants Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 along a water main on Chef Menteur Highway that serves all customers east of Industrial Parkway, including Textron and all of Venetian Isles. Residents in that area may be without water for the duration of the repairs.

The New Orleans Health Department (NOHD) is advising residents that an Air Quality Alert has been issued for New Orleans on Friday, June 8th from 7am to 7pm.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) has raised the Air Quality Index to orange, indicating that the air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups including active children and adults, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases, such as asthma. These groups should avoid prolonged outdoor activities and exertion.

The National Weather Service has cancelled the Tropical Storm Watch, Storm Surge Watch, and Flash Flood Watch for Orleans Parish.
