In preparation for inclement weather, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will suspend parking restrictions on neutral grounds beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) until further notice.

The City is encouraging individuals who require special assistance during emergencies to enroll in its Special Needs Registry. The registry does not guarantee assistance, but allows first responders to appropriately plan for, prepare for and respond to community needs.

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority Update

RTA will continue to provide transit services as weather and road conditions permit. Streetcars will be replaced with buses if winds exceed 35 mph, line blockages occur or water pools on streetcar tracks. Buses will remain in operation as long as weather and road conditions permit. If water levels reach the front step of vehicles (approximately 18 inches from the ground), bus operations will cease.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for residents and businesses in areas east of Textron Marine & Land Systems, including Venetian Isles, after bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area was safe to drink and could be used for personal needs.

Water Testing Has Begun, Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

The precautionary boil water advisory for areas east of Textron Marine & Land Systems on Chef Menteur Highway, including Venetian Isles is still in effect. Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), has begun testing water samples. S&WB will notify residents and businesses when the boil water advisory is canceled. See swbno.org for more information.
